2. Intelligent Operation and Maintenance

H3C's wireless intelligent operation and maintenance system has capabilities such as data visualization, measurability, and automatic optimization, which reduces the difficulty of wireless operation and maintenance and saves labor costs.

Data visualization

H3C's Wireless Intelligent O&M System collects and displays rich O&M data through telemetry technology. For terminals, it records roaming logs, authentication logs, signal strength, important message exchange logs, packet loss, latency, etc., and can identify over 150 reasons for terminal online failure, over 140 reasons for terminal offline failure, and over 100 reasons for authentication failure. For access points (APs), it collects data such as AP association failure reasons, reasons for disconnecting from the access controller (AC), traffic composition of each wired port, packet error information, radio traffic composition, radio channel utilization, radio interference intensity, and WIPS wireless attack data.

Measurable

H3C's wireless intelligent operation and maintenance system establishes a comprehensive assessment system for terminal experience, device health, and network health to measure the operational status of terminal experience, devices, and networks, making it convenient for administrators to view and maintain the network.

Automatic optimization

Wireless networks are dynamic networks; the air interface environment changes, services change, and user scale changes. This requires the network to have the ability to automatically resolve problems and optimize the network. H3C's intelligent wireless operation and maintenance system for problem healing and progressive optimization has the ability to proactively discover and analyze problems, and issue policies to automatically resolve problems and optimize the network, ensuring that the network is always in a state of high performance, low interference, and optimal user experience, all without human intervention.

3. Wired and wireless security protection

Terminal access and admission security

When used with H3C's self-developed wireless controller, wireless switch, and authentication system, it supports authentication and encryption methods including 802.1x authentication, PSK authentication, MAC, PPPoE, Portal, WeChat, and SMS to protect wireless network security.

Supports Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS)

Supports WIPS, and when used with a wireless controller/wireless switch, it can simultaneously support WIPS features such as Rogue detection, intrusion detection, and blacklists and whitelists. It can detect, identify, and counteract unauthorized wireless devices, effectively blocking them.

Wired security

It supports wired access control for APs, and the wired port of the AP can be authenticated as a 1X Client to access the wired network, thereby ensuring the legitimacy of the access AP; at the same time, it can provide security for the wireless tunnel through encryption methods such as CAPWAP tunnel encryption and DTLS.

In conjunction with H3C's security situation awareness, security linkage can be achieved. When the wired side detects a security problem in a wireless terminal, the linkage mechanism will be triggered to notify the wireless controller to block the terminal's wireless access, thereby ensuring network security.

4. Air interface optimization and terminal access strategy

It supports the Radio Resource Optimization Policy (RROP), a collection of various wireless air interface optimization methods aimed at reducing or controlling the consumption of air interface media resources by management messages, broadcast messages, and invalid messages, thus freeing up more resources to provide users with better wireless application services. RROP mainly includes air interface optimization strategies such as wireless service Layer 2 isolation, disabling low-rate signals, adjusting beacon transmission intervals, and disabling broadcast probe functionality.

It supports Station Access Control Policy (SACP), which restricts, controls, and guides wireless terminal access, directing terminals to better access points or wireless services. It also controls and schedules terminal traffic based on network applications, improving the overall performance of the wireless network and enhancing the user experience and effectiveness of wireless access applications. SACP mainly includes terminal control policies such as prohibiting weak signal clients from accessing the network, spectrum navigation, roaming navigation, load balancing, ignoring weak signal strength packets, fair scheduling of air interface transmissions, traffic shaping based on client link conditions, and intelligent bandwidth protection.

5. Radio Frequency Resource Management

Radio Resource Management (RRM) provides systematic and intelligent radio frequency management, real-time monitoring of environmental issues such as air interface channel utilization, channel interference, and signal conflicts. It promptly adjusts parameters such as operating channel, bandwidth, and power to maintain optimal radio frequency resource status. It also enables automatic network deployment and automatic network repair.

6. Application Support

H3C's proprietary Wi-Fi 6 eXtreme Plus technology enables intelligent application identification on the access point (AP), saving snapshots of identified applications. Subsequent user packets are compared to these snapshots, and combined with intelligent sorting technology, identified application packets can be processed at high speed, overcoming the low performance of traditional DPI (Digital Per Pixel) and inaccurate application identification issues of DFI (Digital Per Pixel). When the AP detects that a user is using critical services, it optimizes roaming and radio frequency handover behavior to ensure a smooth user experience. When high air interface occupancy is detected, impacting the user experience of audio and video services, the AP prioritizes traffic for critical services by reserving air interface resources, achieving bidirectional application acceleration.

7. Supports roaming optimization

The wireless AP fully supports the Fast BSS Transition function defined in the 802.11r standard, which can accelerate the roaming process of wireless users, reduce the probability of connection interruption, and improve the quality of roaming services.

Through the 802.11k protocol mechanism, the AP and wireless clients interact and detect each other, and perceive the network topology from multiple dimensions. The AC identifies and calculates the roaming timing and roaming access location of the wireless client from a full perspective. Through the 802.11v and 802.11r mechanisms, it negotiates and switches with the client. At the same time, during the switching period, the AC maintains downlink traffic to ensure traffic, thereby achieving seamless switching and improving the user experience.

8. Only 11ax access

Supporting Only 11ax access, since Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) is backward compatible with the 802.11a/b/g/n/ac protocols, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac users can typically also access Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless access devices. However, this compatibility can lead to a slight decrease in actual performance for users with higher access capabilities such as Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). H3C devices support setting a specific radio frequency of the wireless access device to Only 11ax access mode, allowing only Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) users to connect, thus ensuring bandwidth and performance.

9. Supports probe scanning

The product can be used as a sensor device for remote probe analysis. It features independent scanning radio frequency, allowing it to listen for, capture, and mirror Wi-Fi packets across all frequency bands within the coverage area to a local analysis device in real time without affecting normal AP access. This enables network administrators to troubleshoot and optimize the system. The remote probe analysis function can mirror wireless packets for the working channel or poll and sample all channels, flexibly meeting the requirements of wireless network monitoring and maintenance.

The product can simulate wireless terminals and work with an intelligent operation and maintenance platform to analyze and troubleshoot wireless air interface faults, i.e., Doctor AP mode. In this mode, the AP simulates terminal behavior, collects wireless network information, and synchronizes it to the intelligent operation and maintenance platform for accurate diagnosis. Combined with the Cloudnet APP and CloudSimple, it enables comprehensive cloud-network-terminal analysis, accurately locating wireless network problems.

10. Supports OFDMA technology

Supporting OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) technology, the AP can subdivide the wireless bandwidth and transmit data to multiple terminals at the same time using different subcarriers. This reduces the latency caused by air interface resource conflicts and backoff in traditional protocols, and improves the user experience of low-latency applications such as voice and video in multi-user scenarios.

11. Support space reuse technology

It supports SR (Spatial Reuse) technology and BSS Coloring mechanism, which controls the terminal to adjust the transmit power by identifying the packet color at the link layer. This improves the channel multiplexing capability in high-density deployment, alleviates co-channel interference problems during multi-user use, and significantly improves spectrum resource utilization.

12. Supports TWT technology

It supports TWT (Target Wake Times) technology, which allows the AP to uniformly schedule the wake-up and sleep of terminals. This not only reduces conflicts between terminals, but also reduces the number of unnecessary wake-ups, thus achieving energy saving.

13. Flexible forwarding strategy

When supporting WAN connections, with wireless access devices deployed in branch offices and wireless controllers deployed at headquarters, the traditional forwarding mode involves data packets being sent from the wireless access devices to the wireless controller, which then centrally forwards them. This product can directly convert data packets into wired format on the wireless access devices, allowing data packets to be forwarded locally without passing through the wireless controller, significantly saving wired bandwidth. It also supports flexible policy-based forwarding, allowing terminals within the same wireless service to choose between centralized and local forwarding based on forwarding policies, thereby relieving pressure on egress bandwidth and reducing network bandwidth costs.

14. Supports IPv4/IPv6 dual protocol stack (Native IPv6)

It fully supports IPv6 features, and the device implements a dual IPv4/IPv6 protocol stack. Regardless of whether the original wired network is IPv4 or IPv6, it can automatically register on the wireless controller and provide WLAN services through broadcast, multicast, DHCP option 43, DNS, etc., and will not become an information island in the network.

15. Provide EAD wireless access

The EAD (End User Admission Domination) solution addresses the issue of secure network access for user terminals by integrating network access control and endpoint security products. It enforces enterprise security policies on user terminals accessing the network and, through collaboration with a security policy server, can handle unqualified wireless clients such as those infected with viruses or with system vulnerabilities through various means, including disconnection, isolation, alerts, or monitoring. Only wireless clients that comply with the corresponding security policies are allowed to access the network normally, thereby improving the overall security of the wireless network.

16. Supports Chinese SSIDs

It supports the use of Chinese SSIDs, which can specify an SSID containing up to 16 Chinese characters. It can also use a mixed Chinese and English SSID, providing greater convenience for domestic users.
